Ready for Christmas? You may think getting ready for Christmas is decorating, baking, and buying gifts. While that is true, the most important preparation for Christmas is the one done in our hearts and minds. At TMP-Marian our students seem to be ready for Christmas in the most important way. During fall semester, 509 confessions were heard during Friday Adoration and an additional 45 were heard at the HS retreat on Nov. 21. May all our hearts be opened and ready to receive our King, our divine Monarch, this Christmas season!

TMP-Marian acquitted itself well in the very competitive Manhattan Open at Kansas State University on Saturday. The big experiment came when TMP-M entered seven players in an adult tournament, the Reserve Section for players rated under 1400. Congratulations to Blaise Staab (pictured), who scored three wins and one loss to take 2nd and 1st Scholastic Player in that section. The rest of the Junior High players played in a combined Junior High/High School division at standard scholastic rules. Congratulations to Caden Pinkney, who placed 1st among Junior High players with a score of three wins and two losses. Congratulations also to James Dickman, who placed 3rd in the same section with a score of 2 wins and three losses. Our next action will be at the Kansas Scholastic Chess Association's Grade Level Championship at Hutchinson on January 13. In this event, players will only compete against others in the same academic grade level.

The 7th grade science students have been learning about the human organ systems over the past few weeks. They had to create life size models of the different systems. As you can tell, they got to add a little Christmas flare to their projects as well!
over 1 year ago, Brenda Rose
Groups were assigned different systems to study and create.
Students had fun drawing their systems to explain what they had learned.
There was a lot of creativity shown in this project.
The 6th grade Personal Finance class welcomed Mr. Andrew Taylor of Werth Wealth Management to speak to us today. He told us about investing in bonds and stocks and we did some math as we learned about the rule of 72. We thank Mr. Taylor for his time!

You know you might be made for the sciences when you can do this right before lunch and it doesn't phase you! Thank you to all the junior high and high school teachers who continue to bring quality and engaging instruction to our students right up to the last days of the semester!

TMP-M Still Needs Eight Host Families. We need your help! There are 7 girls and four boys heading to Hays on Jan.6. We still need eight families to step up and say yes to a future friend south of the equator! For 5 weeks from Jan. 6 to Feb. 11, 2024, ten (10) international students and one chaperone from Argentina will be visiting TMP-Marian High! To help offset food and utility expenses, host families are given a $500 stipend. Because the students help pay for their time in our school, TMP-M also receives $500. If you host, it's just like giving a $500 donation!
